Google Add-ons are "programs" that developers have created to enhance or add components to the Google Application - Docs, Sheets, Forms and now Slides! Each Google application has a menu option within the choices- Add-ons. Under each application users can choose to Get Add-ons or Manage Add-ons and once you have some add-ons you will see them appear under that menu choice as well. ***Many add-ons are made by third party developers and during the review process the add-ons are available. However, you may receive a notice from Google that says "This app isn't verified". If you are confident that the add-on is from a trusted source you can select "advanced" and then choose to go to the add-on. This means that Google hasn't reviewed it, or the developer has made changes that have not been reviewed. You can choose to go on or not install the add-on."***

Doc Chat- Google Docs Chat program that allows you to make groups and chat with friends. Chat program that allows for users to chat with other people on Google Docs, even if they aren't on the same document. It is startup and go, and no verification is necessary. All you need is your Google account. Educators should set clear boundaries about the correct use of this tool.
